We offer the most comprehensive programs for all budgets. While some
companies offer either courses or private tutoring, or offer either
admissions counseling or test preparation, The Edge offers the most
extensive list of programs. The Edge offers test preparation courses
and private and semi-private tutoring for the SAT, ACT, all SAT II
exams, GMAT, LSAT, GRE, and elementary school-college level subject
tests. We also offer admissions counseling for students as early as
freshman year and students have the option of private counseling or
our one-of-a-kind College Prep Bootcamp™.
Customized Packages for All Students
Our programs are built on the philosophy that to best prepare for
college, students need a customized program. The Edge offers students
the ability to customize a package that best suits their individual
needs and budget concerns, and is unique because students can take
a course and supplement the course with additional private tutoring
sessions at a discounted rate. Courses provide the best foundation
and are the most cost-effective means of test preparation for students
because students meet with their instructors for 4 hours a week, rather
than only 1 hour or 1.5 hours with a costly private tutor. Then once
students complete the course and identify their specific strengths
and weaknesses, they get to really hone in on their specific weaknesses
with private tutoring sessions. Additionally, students are able to
combine admissions counseling and test preparation services and to
create the perfect college preparation package to suit their needs.
Enthusiastic, Expert Instructors
The Edge only hires top-notch instructors from Ivy League colleges
who have scored in the top 2% on their SATs, and other standardized
tests. Instructors participate in an extensive training program and
must complete several mock teaching workshops before working with
students. Additionally, our instructors and college counselors are
extremely enthusiastic and motivate their students to achieve their
goals, and also inspire confidence to banish the anxiety surrounding
college preparation.
Authentic Test Conditions
Whether students opt for a course or private tutoring, they will
have the opportunity to take practice tests in an authentic testing
environment with proctors to give them the best idea of what the actual
test will be like.
Small Class Size
If opting for a course, students will never be placed in a group
with more than ten students. Other courses place students in classes
with up to 20 students, which can serve as a disservice to the students.
Not only is it impossible for instructors to determine each student’s
strengths and weaknesses, but it also does not give students the opportunity
to ask all their questions.
Students Grouped By Score
Students will always be grouped in classes with other students who have similar
scores. Students will never feel intimidated by other students scoring higher
than them, or limited by students scoring lower than them. No matter what a
student’s starting score is, we will always have a place for them.
